Fact: It was a historic and fruitful journey to Nepal by the distinguished delegates of Tonboon Visaka Foundation, Bangkok, Thailand from July 27 – August 1, 2018.
HK Bijaya Awale, Coordinator of Tonboon Visaka Foundation Nepal Chapter and team welcomed World Mom Dr. Tonboon Visaka Amatasethe, Chairman of Tonboon Visaka Foundation, Bangkok, Thailand at Tribhuvan International Airport on 27 July 2018. After refreshment at Hotel Temple Inn, Gausala, TVF delegates: Ms. Iseasy Issare, Nanat Anan, Ms. Samana Oranuch, Mr. Ganesh Dhakal and Mr. Awale with World Mom Tonboon Visaka headed to Lumbini by a vehicle at mid night.

Reaching Lumbini at 7:30 am on 28 July, all the delegates took a short rest at Hotel Ananda Inn in Lumbini. World Mom Tonboon Visaka and delegates paid reverence to Buddha by practicing Buddha Puja, meditation and chanting at Buddha Birth place, Lumbini Maha MayaDevi Garden after breakfast. Catching some memorable photos in the sacred garden became very ecstatic.

The day work was auspicious in offering TALAPAD and Tri-Chivara to Venerable Bhikshu Sangha in Royal Thai Monastery, Lumbini.

Initially, auspicious TALAPAD and Tri-chivara was set for The Most Venerable Ashwoghosa Mahasthavira, Sangha Nayaka (Supreme Patriarch) of Nepal residing abbot of Dhyanakuti Vihara, Banepa. Respected Dr. Tonboon Visaka offered TALAPAD and Tri-chivara to Venerable Bhikshu Dr. Maitri Mahasthavira, President of All Nepal Bhikshu Association and Venerable Phra Agahn Supot Kittiwanno, Abbot of Royal Thai Monastery. After blessings by Ven. Bhikshu Sangha, The TVF delegates headed to Maitri Vihara, outside the Lumbini garden.

Paying sincere reverence to auspicious Buddha Relic at Maitri Mahavihara was very blissful. Venerable Bhikshu Dr. Maitri Mahasthavira proposed a piece of land to build the Buddha Relic Chedi, Pagoda where as World Mom Tonboon Visaka verbally promised to sponsor to build the Pagoda on behalf of Tonboon Visaka Foundation, Bangkok, Thailand!
Moreover, Tonboon Visaka Foundation planned to build the Siddhartha Birth and 7 Steps site in front of the Buddha Relic Pagoda naming WAT TONBOON VISAKA. Ms. Ghunduk Lama helped in paying visit to Buddha Relic. World Mom Tonboon Visaka offered Tonboon Visaka Logo to HK Bijaya Awale, Coordinator of Tonboon Visaka Foundation Nepal Chapter. It was a great honor.

Evening meeting with Sanjeev Tuladhar, Vice Chairman of Bodhi Channel ended with positive response to coordinate with Bodhi TV, one and only Buddhist TV Channel in Nepal.

Dinner and rest became interesting after a busy and fruitful day and last night’s long drive to Lumbini.
Due to tight schedule, early 4 am on 29 July, TVF delegates headed back to Kathmandu by vehicle. Viewing green scenery, rivers and hills alongside/opposite the highway cheered all in the long journey. All visited Akambeshwar Mahadeva Temple on the way.

Breakfast nearby the deepest river Narayani at Narayanghat Chok was lovely. After arriving Kathmandu around 11:30 am, everybody enjoyed lunch at Baan Thai Restaurant, Maharajgunj.
It was the great pleasure to pay visit and offer TALAPAD and Tri-chivara to The Most Venerable Ashwoghosa Mahasthavira, Sangha Nayaka (Supreme Patriarch) of Nepal residing abbot of Dhyanakuti Vihara, Banepa in the afternoon. Venerable Bhikshu Rahula Mahasthavira, Assistant Abbot of Dhyanakuti Vihara greeted the delegates with tea.

It was another happy time to rest in Hotel Temple Inn, Gausala after a long journey and gracious visit on the day.
On 30 July, Gautam Maharjan, Initiator/Volunteer of METTA Volunteers had a glad meeting with World Mom Tonboon Visaka Amatasethe and delegates during breakfast in the hotel. Mr. Ajar Man Joshi hosted Chairman of Tonboon Visaka Foundation and delegates in the premise of Patan Durbar Square, World Heritage site. It took 3 hours visiting thoroughly in Patan Durbar Square with beautiful and memorable photo snaps.

After lunch at Baan Thai Restaurant, Jawalakhel, TVF delegates visited Pashupati Temple at 2:30 pm and attended Itipakha Shiva Purana Gyanmahayagya. Accompanied by Mr. Awale and Ms. Samana Oranuch, journalist from Thailand, World Mom Tonboon Visaka was grandly welcomed and honored during the program by Sapana Mata Devi Shrestha. World Mom Tonboon Visaka delivered speech of love to all. World Mom Tonboon Visaka offered Tonboon Visaka Logo to Honorable Sapana Mata Devi and devotees. World Mom Tonboon Visaka handed Certificate to the sponsor devotees of the Mahayagya program. With respect, police skirted back World Mom and team to Hotel Temple Inn.

World Mom Tonboon Visaka’s compassionate discussion for dhamma works and social works in Nepal with Chapter Coordinator Mr. HK Bijaya Awale and Gautam Maharjan, President of METTA Volunteers was very enthusiastic. Mr. Maharjan shared brief about METTA Volunteers: a legally registered social organization of altruistic youths dedicated to share loving kindness cultivating 5 precepts directed by Lord Buddha. With respect Mr. Maharjan offered Tri-Chaityas, symbol of unique Buddhist culture in Kathmandu valley, Nepal to World Mom Tonboon Visaka. It was glad to hear from World Mom to place such Buddha Stupas in Tonboon Visaka Foundation Office.

It was nice dining dinner at Royal Restaurant, Tinkune.
31 July was the day to take rest and shopping for souvenirs and packing/preparation for backing home. Dinner at Empire Restaurant, Durbar Marg was the last meal during the visit.
The day of departure (1 August 2018) became busy. Mr. Awale offered standing baby Buddha Image to World Mom Tonboon Visaka along with Khada and garlands. Mr. Kedar Timalsina, representative of Sapana Mata Devi presented Token of Love. Mr/s. Siraj Bhattarai, owner of Hotel Temple Inn and Mr. Ganesh Dhakal offered Khada and bade farewell.
Feelings: It has been a great honor to offer auspicious TALAPAD and Tri-chivara to The Most Venerable Ashwoghosa Mahasthavira, Sangha Nayaka (Supreme Patriarch) of Nepal and Bhikshu Sangha. It’s the honorary history in Tonboon Visaka Foundation.
World Mom Tonboon Visaka Amatasethe’s compassionate motherly manner has impressed all. Her love and curiosity along with willing to help in Nepal are amazing. Despite 84 years of age, World Mom’s travel by a van throughout the day and night, attending meetings, paying visit to Ven. Bhikshu Sangha and time to locals with cheerful smiles in white dress, angel-presence has reserved a sound image in public hearts.

Ven. Bhikshu Dr. Maitri Mahasthavira’s proposal of land to build Buddha Relic Stupa and Mahamayadevi Sculpture in the Buddha Land is highly blissful. Besides, World Mom’s oral word for financial support to build such a sacred stupa with Buddha relic is the most awaiting part.

It’s glad to get readiness from METTA Volunteers to coordinate with Tonboon Visaka Foundation in dhamma works and social works to launch programs in Nepal.
It was grateful to Mr. Awale and Mr. Dhakal for sponsoring World Mom Dr. Tonboon Visaka Amatasethe’s whole trip from receiving to departing at Tribhuvan International Airport. Further, Mr. Awale’s accompanying World Mom Tonboon Visaka throughout the journey was really incredible.
Future: The greatly fruitful journey of World Mom Dr. Tonboon Visaka Amatasethe on behalf of Tonboon Visaka Foundation, Bangkok, Thailand requires agreement and team work for implementation of social works and dhamma works in Nepal.
